I spent a career in public service. I am not done being useful.

I retired from federal government service in November. Sitting down was never the plan.

I hold my insurance and securities licenses, I am a commissioned notary, and I serve as an Election Judge in Dallas County — which means a fair number of my neighbors have already handed me something important and trusted me to handle it correctly.

Here is what thirty years of public service taught me about money: most people are not short on effort. They are short on someone who will explain the thing plainly and sit with them until they understand it. The information was never hidden. It was written for people who already had it.

So I explain it — in plain language, in the order that actually holds up: protection first, then growth, then the paperwork that decides whether any of it transfers. Every answer starts with a question someone actually asked me. Every recommendation comes after the tradeoff, not before it.

I am independent, which means I am not captive to one company's shelf. I shop the market for the family in front of me, and "keep what you have" is a real answer I give often. I am licensed in both insurance and securities, which means one conversation instead of four disconnected appointments. And I am a notary, which means the appointment nobody books until it is too late can usually happen the same week.

If you finish a page knowing something you did not know, it worked — whether or not you ever call.
